Old Warden Aerodrome, situated in Bedfordshire, United Kingdom, boasts a rich aviation heritage dating back to the early 20th century. Established in 1932, it was initially a private aerodrome for the Shuttleworth family. However, during World War II, it played a crucial role as a base for various military operations, including training Royal Air Force (RAF) pilots.
Post-war, the aerodrome transitioned into a hub for vintage aviation enthusiasts. It became synonymous with the Shuttleworth Collection, a renowned museum of vintage aircraft and vehicles. The collection showcases iconic planes from the early years of flight, meticulously restored to their former glory, which frequently take to the skies during airshows.
Today, Old Warden Aerodrome continues to serve as the venue for the Shuttleworth Collection’s displays and airshows, attracting aviation enthusiasts from around the world. These events offer spectators a unique opportunity to witness historic aircraft in action, from graceful biplanes to roaring World War II fighters. Additionally, the aerodrome hosts educational programs and workshops, preserving not just the physical artifacts of aviation history but also imparting knowledge about the pioneering era of flight to future generations.

Known Bugs
- Due to a bug introduced in Sim Update 12, default Bing ground textures can sometimes be displayed instead of the custom aerial images included in our scenery. Asobo has acknowledged this issue and it will be fixed in Sim Update 15.
- Transparent and translucent glass panes can appear very dark when subject to particle effects such as rain, snow and fog. This is a known bug that hopefully Asobo will fix in the near future.
